WEBSITE MAINTENANCE

Website Maintenance Services

Updates, backups, security patching, uptime monitoring and content changes under a written plan with agreed response times. For WordPress, WooCommerce and custom PHP sites — including ones we did not build.

What a plan typically covers

Core, plugin and dependency updates · Off-site backups with tested restores · Security patching and malware scanning · Uptime and SSL monitoring · PHP version compatibility · Broken-link and 404 checks · Core Web Vitals review · A defined allowance of content changes · A monthly written report

WHY IT MATTERS

Websites Do Not Sit Still

A website is not a finished object. The platform it runs on releases updates, the plugins it depends on get abandoned, the PHP version the host offers moves on, and the certificate securing it expires on a date nobody wrote down.

None of that is dramatic on any given day. It becomes dramatic on the day a known vulnerability is exploited, or a forced host upgrade takes the site offline, and the most recent backup turns out to be from eleven months ago and has never been tested.

Maintenance is the unglamorous work that keeps those days from happening. It is also considerably cheaper than the alternative.

Backups stored off-site, with restores actually tested
Updates applied on staging first, not straight to production
Hosting and domain stay in your name
Content-change allowance stated in hours, not left vague
Response times written into the plan
A monthly report you can actually read
SCOPE

What Maintenance Covers

Updates

CMS core, plugins, themes and server dependencies — applied on a staging copy first so a bad release does not take your live site with it.

Backups

Scheduled database and file backups stored away from the server, with periodic restore tests. An untested backup is not a backup.

Security

Patching, malware scanning, login hardening, file-permission checks and SSL renewal monitoring.

Monitoring

Uptime checks, error monitoring, certificate expiry alerts and Search Console coverage warnings — so you hear it from us, not from a customer.

Content changes

A defined monthly allowance for text edits, images, new pages and product updates. Anything larger is quoted before it starts.

Performance & SEO health

Core Web Vitals review, broken-link and 404 checks, redirect sanity, and sitemap and robots verification.

WHAT WE WILL NOT DO

Being Straight About the Limits

Maintenance does not make a site immune to being hacked. It substantially reduces the risk and, more importantly, means there is a recent tested backup when something does go wrong. Anyone promising you invulnerability is selling something.

It also is not a redesign. If the underlying build is poor, patching it every month is money spent postponing a decision. We will say so, and quote the rebuild honestly, rather than collecting a monthly fee to keep something alive that should be replaced.

And it does not include unlimited work. Plans state the hours included. When a request exceeds them, you get a quote before anything starts, not an invoice afterwards.

Start with an audit

For a site we did not build, the first step is always an audit: platform and versions, update backlog, backup status, security posture, performance and SEO health. You get a written report with priorities, whether or not you go on to take a plan.

Questions About Website Maintenance

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We start with an audit: what the site runs on, what version, what is out of date, whether backups exist, and whether anything is already compromised. That audit is quoted separately, because until it is done neither of us knows what an ongoing plan should cover. Occasionally the honest answer is that a site is cheaper to rebuild than to maintain, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a plan.

Nothing, for a while. Then a plugin with a known vulnerability gets exploited, or a PHP version reaches end of life and the host forces an upgrade that breaks the site, or an SSL certificate lapses and browsers start warning visitors away. The common thread is that these are all cheap to prevent and expensive to fix after the fact, and they tend to happen at the worst possible moment.

A defined amount, yes — typically a set number of hours per month for text edits, image swaps, adding a page or updating a product. Larger work such as a new template or a new feature is quoted separately. We say up front how many hours are included rather than leaving "minor changes" undefined, because that phrase is where most maintenance contracts go sour.

No. Hosting stays in your name and on your card, so you always control the account and can move away from us without losing anything. We will manage the hosting on your behalf, handle renewals and deal with the provider when something breaks, but the account is yours.

Response times are agreed in writing in the plan, with a shorter target for a site that is fully down than for a routine content change. We would rather commit to a target we can actually hit than advertise a number that sounds impressive and gets missed. Our working hours are IST; for clients in other time zones the plan states what is covered outside those hours.

Not Sure What Condition Your Site Is In?

Send us the URL and tell us what it runs on, if you know. We will come back with an audit scope and, once that is done, a maintenance plan sized to what the site actually needs.
