Website Development Cost in India 2026: Real Prices, Not Ranges

28 September 2026 Webdoze Team 6 min read 8 views

Most website quotes in India are impossible to compare, because no two of them describe the same thing. One is a five-page brochure site. Another includes hosting, a booking system and a year of support. The prices look wildly different because the scope is wildly different, not because one developer is overcharging.

This guide does two things. It explains what actually drives the cost of a website or business system in India, and it publishes the real prices we charge for three specific builds. Most agencies will not print a number. We would rather you know before you spend an hour on a call.

What we actually charge

These are current Webdoze prices for three defined builds, not starting-from figures that climb once you talk to us. If your requirement matches the scope described, this is the price.

AI booking website — five pages, hosting included: $350

A five-page business website with an AI-assisted booking flow, suited to clinics, salons, consultants, coaching centres, repair services and anyone whose customers need to reserve a slot rather than just send a message.

Included: five page layouts, mobile-first build, booking and availability flow, enquiry form with email alerts, WhatsApp click-to-chat, Google Maps embed, basic on-page SEO setup, Google Analytics and Search Console connection, first year of hosting, and a handover session so your staff can update content.

Not included: your domain name, paid stock photography, content writing beyond light editing of what you supply, and payment gateway approval — that is between you and the provider, and it is often the slowest part of any project.

AI automation eCommerce system: $550

An online store with automation handling the repetitive work: order confirmations, stock alerts, abandoned-cart follow-up and customer notifications that would otherwise sit on someone's to-do list.

Included: product catalogue with categories and variants, UPI and card payment integration, delivery rules by area or order value, stock management, automated order and dispatch notifications, an admin panel your own staff can run, and analytics with eCommerce events connected at launch.

Not included: product photography, catalogue data entry beyond a sample set, merchant account approval, and ongoing ad spend.

AI lead generation and assignment CRM: $850

A CRM that captures leads from your website, forms and channels, scores them, and assigns them to the right salesperson automatically rather than leaving them in a shared inbox.

Included: lead capture from multiple sources, automatic assignment rules, pipeline stages, follow-up reminders, activity history per customer, role-based access for your sales and office staff, and reporting on conversion by source and by person.

Not included: migrating years of existing data from another system, third-party telephony or dialler licences, and integrations with software that has no public API.

Why quotes for "the same" website differ so much

Scope is the biggest variable, not skill

A five-page site and a fifteen-page site are not proportionally different in effort — the second one usually needs a content structure, a menu that still makes sense, and templates rather than one-off layouts. Ask every developer to price the same page count and the same feature list, or you are comparing nothing.

Who writes the content

This single question moves more quotes than any technical decision. If you supply finished text and images, the build is faster and cheaper. If the developer has to write your service descriptions, the project takes longer and depends on how quickly you approve drafts. Neither is wrong, but the two are not the same purchase.

Integrations

Payment gateways, courier APIs, accounting software, WhatsApp Business, booking calendars, ERP systems — each one adds work that is invisible on the finished site. A quote that includes three integrations and one that includes none will never match.

Who owns what afterwards

Some cheap builds are cheap because you never get the hosting account, the domain, or the ability to edit anything without calling the developer back. Ask directly: after launch, whose name is the hosting in, and can my staff update content without you? If the answer is vague, the low price has a cost attached.

The costs that show up after launch

The build price is not the whole figure. Budget separately for:

  • Domain renewal — annual, in your name
  • Hosting — included for the first year on the booking website above; a recurring cost after that
  • SSL certificate — often bundled with hosting, but confirm it
  • Maintenance — updates, backups, security patches and content changes, under an agreed plan rather than an assumption
  • Payment gateway fees — per transaction, paid to the provider, not to us
  • Ad spend — if you intend to run campaigns, this is separate from the build and usually larger than it

A website that is never updated does not stay still. Plugins are abandoned, PHP versions reach end of life, certificates lapse. Those are cheap to prevent and expensive to fix afterwards, which is why we quote maintenance as a stated plan rather than leaving it to chance.

What we will not promise

We will not tell you a website guarantees leads. It removes a reason for people not to contact you, and it gives your marketing somewhere to land — that is a different claim, and an honest one.

We will not guarantee a first position on Google either. What we do is build the site properly, connect Search Console, set up your Google Business Profile, and show you the search data each month so you can judge the result yourself.

And if your requirement genuinely does not fit one of the three builds above, we will quote it separately rather than stretching a fixed price until it no longer covers the work.

How to brief a developer so the quote means something

Bring these six things to every conversation and the quotes you get back will actually be comparable:

  • What the business does and who the customer is
  • The pages you need, listed
  • Whether you need payments, bookings or logins
  • What has to connect to systems you already use
  • Who is writing the content and supplying the images
  • Who will manage the site after launch

Getting a figure for your project

If one of the three builds above matches what you need, the price is the price. If it does not, tell us what the business does and what the site or system has to achieve, and you will get a written scope with a fixed quote before any work starts.

We work from our office in Balangir, Odisha, with clients across the state and in India, the UAE, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. You can see selected projects or send your requirements.
